Poetry: Root Song
Root Song
Root song, root song, hiking with my
boots on,
whistle for some finer weather, know
that all things grow together.
Weed song, weed song, weeds is where we
came from.
Weeds can grow through sidewalk cracks,
nature comes to take it back.
Briar song, briar song, all of you
should sing along.
Nature's perfect armory, but boots will
keep them off of me.
Plant song, plant song, medicine to
make us strong,
tinctures that can help us mend, plants
will heal us in the end.
Green song, green song, a guide to help
us learn some
useful tricks out in the woods, to show
us how to find the goods.
Songs end, songs end, but we will see
the guide again.
When flowers bloom and plants sprout,
we'll see her there without a doubt.
A/N: A little rhyme for Carol Judy. Rest in power, my friend.
